Double Cleansing!

Say it with me… DOUBLE CLEANSING! If you’re new to this idea, I’m here to help.

Throughout the day, our faces get clogged by makeup, spf, pollution, dirt etc. and so an effective cleansing system is key. Generally, your first cleanse is going to get rid of this top layer of dirt, and your second cleanse it what actually cleans your skin of deeper impurities. If you have oily skin this will be even more important in helping to control excess oil production, similarly, this is also key if you wear a lot of makeup!

For my first cleanse I like to use balms or oil cleansers as they are really great at breaking down dirt, melting makeup and leaving me a good base for my second cleanse (where I then use a cleansing milk). One of my favourite cleansers is the Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser. Drunk Elephant are a lovely skincare brand, with Instagram worthy packaging and thoughtful, effective formulations.

This cleanser feels luxurious, goes on as an oil and then becomes milky when mixed with water. It has a cute magnetic spoon on the lid which helps keep the product hygienic. Key benefits are that its rich in antioxidants to help soothe skin and restore moisture and it doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight so it’s great for dry skin. Additionally, all Drunk Elephant products are free from fragrance and essential oils which is great if you have sensitive skin.

It’s worth noting that Drunk Elephant can be pretty expensive, however if you want to try the brand, this is one of the most affordable products and it’s a huge tub where a little goes a long way so you won’t run out quickly- it’s also just a brilliant product!

Overall, I would highly recommend introducing this cleanser into your routine. If you are new to double cleansing this is a great place to start, or if you already love balm cleansers, definitely give this one a try! Let me know how you get on, or if you have any questions, in the comments!

Lots of love,
